Don't Commit Adultery | The Seventh Commandment For Kids

Douglas learns about the seventh commandment, which says, "You shall not commit adultery." This commandment is mostly for adults because it has to do with marriage, but even kids can follow the seventh commandment. God values marriage very much. In the six days of creation, after God made each new thing He saw that it was good, but there was one thing that wasn't good: it wasn't good for man to be alone. When God made Adam and Eve, the very first people, He made marriage. When men and women get marriage they make vows, or promises, to each other. Adultery is breaking the promises you make your husband or wife when you get married. And even though marriage is for men and women, not boys and girls, we can still follow this commandment even when we're young. We can still keep our promises and we can still try to not do things that our future husband or wife would not want us to do. Let's all follow the seventh commandment! How to Discuss Adultery With Kids: Adultery is a difficult topic to discuss with kids, especially if they haven't had "the talk" yet. If you are teaching other people's children, like in a school or church setting, it's very important to not go into more detail than the children's parents are comfortable with, so it's always best to assume that they haven't had "the talk" yet.  I tried my best in this video to explain adultery in a way that even little kids could follow, and when asked "what's adultery?" I like to use this definition, "Adultery is breaking the promises you make your husband or wife when you get married." It's obviously not the full definition, but I feel that it's enough to help kids understand what the seventh commandment means.
