In this episode Dan reflects on his recent reconnection with his vintage Vox AC30, following some gig and recording preparation with his band Tin Spirits. Dan is using the AC30 connected to a Fryette Power Station to provide some attenuation, which helps put the amp in a sweet spot in terms of tone, dynamics and feel… but without excessive volume. Using that as the base tone, we go through his current selection of boosts, OD and fuzz to get all kinds of drive textures, throwing in some modulation and ambience for good measure.
