Stephanie's Birthday ringing tour in Swindon

So, another journey onto the Great Western Railway, with, of course, a loong stop at Paddington, saw us venturing to Swindon and Stratton for Stephanie's (aka Steeve's) birthday ringing outing. Quarters were rung at Christ Church Swindon, the glorious 1924 Taylor 10, where it was first as Conductor for Caters - a good effort from all. Next, of course, was a lunch in Spoons before venturing to St Mark Swindon for a quarter of Grandsire Triples; a predominantly fabulous musical quarter. The tenor is seen being raised and then the two trebles. A devon style raise on the minor 5 was attempted afterwards which was quite respectable. Being in the belfry, the intricacies involved, with 11cwt worth of bell being rung before you is still quite something to behold. The last tower of the day was Stratton St Margaret. Certainly not the best ring of bells in the world but were characterful to say the least given the impressions beforehand. After obtaining the nominals which in itself was worth a visit just to get those, a rather humorous quarter of Bob Doubles and Stedman Doubles was rung. After getting back to Paddington and a rather eventful evening on Steeve's 18th, it was great to see 2 class 43s in their original liveries - as shown in the last photo in the video.
