It'll take some time, but they'll surely be back. They've been going through the games in chronological order, so next on their list will be a Mountain of Faith album. You can't tell me you're not excited for that. Just thinking about it gets me pumped. Overall, this album has been a worthy addition to Tutti Sound's repetoire. This track is particular completely epitomizes Neo's arrangement style. The manic strings, the piercing stacatto of the brass overlaid by a choir that drives the whole performance forward. Everything blends to create an atmosphere of tension and urgency that makes us want to know, "what's coming next?" Even now, I stll find it amazing that music is capable of doing that. --- In a bit of exciting news, and by news I mean from two weeks ago, Tutti Sound has made the bold move of extending their hand to the Western community. Their two Comiket 85 albums are now available on English-translated pages of their site. They've also opened a facebook page where you can keep up with news or find links to purchase their work. If you're a fan of what they've been doing, definitely subscribe and keep up to date with them! I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Does this mean other circles will follow Tutti's example, dragging a new western Touhou revolution with them kicking and screaming through the door? Well, no. Extremely unlikely, I would argue. That said, I am optimistic for a few reasons. The very fact that Tutti Sound has made this move reveals an important point: They are aware there is a Western fanbase, and that we are deeply interested and involved in the Touhou doujin scene. And while this is old hat for most of us, this shows that we are moving a step up on their radars, and they are now seeing us as a potential consumer base. Generally speaking, a decade ago most circles weren't even aware of our existence, or were only aware on a very limited scope. What does this mean for the future? I'm not sure myself. What I'm hoping to see is a community where content creators will be interacting with us on an international scale, rather being nationally confined in Japan. But until that happens, we'll have to wait and see. Until then, enjoy the newest of Tutti Sound!
