In 1886, young Emilio Aguinaldo (Jericho Ejercito) and his friend Candido Tirona (Mac Lozano) receive ominous prophecies from an old woman, revealing Aguinaldo's rise and fall, and Tirona's death. A decade later, as the leader of the Katipunan's Cavite chapter, Aguinaldo (Jeorge Estregan) fights the Spanish forces, liberating Cavite but losing Tirona (Ronnie Lazaro) in the process. As he deals with internal conflicts and the betrayal of leaders like Andrés Bonifacio (Cesar Montano), Aguinaldo's leadership is challenged. After a temporary retreat to Biak-na-Bato, Aguinaldo secured Philippine independence with American assistance, only for the country to be sold to the U.S. and plunged into a new conflict.
