Our quest continues for the perfect Red-Tailed Hawk. We're most interested in locating a Dark Morph or a Harlan's Hawk which is a subspecies of the Red-Tailed Hawk. Unlike the traditional color pattern of a Red-Tailed Hawk, these birds are much darker in coloration and typically have little to no white in their feathers. These darker birds will migrate down from Canada during the winter months as they search for food and warmer temperatures here in the states. We're using a Bal-chatri trap with a bait mouse and gerbil as we're targeting passage red-tailed hawks. Both Michael and Ashley are Master Falconers with years of experience with the proper licensing and permits to trap wild birds.
