In 2002, during a concert with Klezroym in Porto Antico (Genova), the night concluded with a performance by a singer named Mahawash with Ensemble Kabul. Initially planning to listen to a couple of songs and then join others for dinner, I found myself captivated for two hours. In a hypnotic state of joyful lightness, surrounded by technicians dismantling the stage and the last remnants of the audience, I was still there. I believe the musicians of Ensemble Kabul reside in Geneva, and I sincerely hope the echo of our appreciation reaches them through this rendition of Khorshid Guna.
