New satellite images indicate China’s PLA is building roads and bridges around central Bhutan From displaying provocative behaviour along the Line of Actual Control sparking a full-blown dispute with India to occupying parts of Nepalese territory by building a village in Humla district, China’s hunger for territorial expansion has now brought the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to Bhutan. Earlier, CGTN journalist Shen Shiwei shared pictures of the settlement in Pangda which lies 2 kilometres within Bhutanese territory, however, he deleted his tweet later. Talking to the channel about the report of China capturing part of Bhutan’s territory by setting up a village near Doklam clash site, Ambassador of Bhutan to India Major General Vetsop Namgyel had told ANI that no such settlement exists on their territory. “I have seen the tweet. It is a tweet by a journalist. I don’t bother to speculate about tweets,” he had said. It was first reported in August this year that Beijing was strengthening its position in the border regions to counter India. A joint-research by Sim Tack from geopolitical intelligence platform Stratfor and open-source intelligence analyst 'DetResFa' showed that PLA had been building missile air defense infrastructure near Doklam, Naku La ‘clash points’. As per the report, these missile sites were being built near China, Bhutan and India tri-junction at Doklam plateau.
