ANSYS Fluent: Supersonic compressible Flow over Bullet

In this tutorial, we simulated supersonic shock formed over 9 mm bullet at a velocity of 400 m/s. Moreover, design of bullet nose was changed parametrically for low drag optimization. Analysis was done on an axis symmetric model of bullet for reducing processing power requirements. Typical velocity jumps in shock formation were obtained at different distances from bullet and compared in post CFD. Density based solver was used for analysis. Detailed videos on theory of numerical solutions will be uploaded soon for a better understanding of numerical models available in the software.
