"Nine Hours to Rama," the 1963 U.S.-U.K. drama, featuring Horst Buchholz, Jose Ferrer, Valerie Gearon, Robert Morley and Diane Baker, directed by Mark Robson, written by Nelson Gidding, based on a book by Stanley Wolpert. Synopsis: India, 1948: A disillusioned Hindu activist, Nathuram Godse (Horst Buchholz), becomes so disturbed by the daily conflict he witnesses between Muslims and Hindu Nationalists that he decides he must assassinate Mahatma Gandhi. In anticipation of his crime, Godse spends the hours leading up to the murder recounting the events of his life that brought him to this point, including his doomed love affair with married Rani (Valerie Gearon) and his own violent interactions with Muslims.
