The mix utilises replicas of pre-Hispanic instruments that are created and played by Osvaldo Padron and which were, according to archaeological findings, played in the country's ancestral past. These inspirations are combined with other global instruments as a culture-bridging experience; namely through the Near Eastern instrumentation of Qanun flutes. Huichols are an indigenous people of Mexico living in the Sierra Madre Occidental range, who are known for their ceremonial use of the Peyote plant and unique shamanic and artistic lifestyle. Carbon dating records suggest that the Huichol people have lived in these areas for 15,000 years and Kieri has chosen this artwork to best represent her connection to the sounds and her native land.
