Ronald Moodnick is best remembered for playing Fagin, the pied-piper of Cockney pickpockets in Oliver the Musical, a role he was the first to perform on stage in 1960, and reprised several times during the next 50 years of his life. In addition to acting he also wrote books and composed his own musicals, but none were as successful as the adaptation of the Dickensian tale he'd starred in. Although he regularly appeared on television in the UK and USA, playing a variety of comedic and dramatic characters, Moody's career was a one-hit wonder, as besides Fagin his second biggest claim to fame was turning down an offer to play Doctor Who. He passed away at the age of 91.
