Taking out the Ricoh GR II once more for some architecture photography, but this time with a twist! Yes, rain can be annoying for photographers, but also a blessing at the same time, because it covers the city's streets with all those nice puddles. The reflections in the water open up a very different view of the world, especially of architecture in cities. Otherwise clear lines get rippled and broken, foreground and reflection mix and create a level of abstraction that makes a photograph appear like a painting. Familiar places and views are transformed into something completely new, which is something I try to achieve anyways with my architecture photography. Once again the Ricoh GR II proved to be an excellent choice for this kind of abstract architecture photography. The freedom of movement that this camera offers is extremely practical, especially in the rain where quick action is an advantage (and also makes up for the lack of water resistance of the Ricoh GR II).
