Eventually there will be nice aluminum posts there, but until we're ready for the final hardware, we wanted a substitute in their place. Matt fashioned together a few 2x4's as a temporary solution, but we did still want them to sit in the place of where the final posts will be. This meant cutting the holes for them into our aft cockpit seat. After measuring out for the holes, Matt goes through with our oscilating tool to cut through the fiberglass, but it did not want to pop out that easily. Even whacking it with a hammer would not get it to budge! Eventually it did come out, but there were a few moments we were holding our breath because we thought we chopped our boat up in a spot that was not supposed to be touched. But we conferred with Max Cruise, and it was all good! The next day we were able to get the posts in and leveled, so now we can call that section good, until it's ready for the final hardware! In other exciting progress, we brought the cockpit doors into the tent to give them their first coat of super build primer from Alexseal. It's always one of my favorite things, when we can transform an item which was once only made of fiberglass and fairing compound, into a finished looking product. After letting them cure overnight we got them all into place, which they fit perfectly, and now we have a really good idea of what the closed cockpit space will look like. We hope you enjoy!
