A Vietnamese heritage and Bay Area background enhance a cosmopolitan confidence, and with a vocal agility that conjures Ariana Grande, thuy has numerous ways of bringing lyrics to life. Like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, pop icons she grew up idolizing, her performances are unique yet natural – she truly communicates with her listeners. She’s felt this power in herself for years; early on, her “Hands On Me” took top honors at a regional radio show’s talent contest, and her yen to be a performer started to take hold. But a life in music is risky to say the least, one reason why this well-rounded dreamer went to school, walked away with a degree in medicine, and took a job at Stanford.
