Live Version: MSG Chairman’s Conversation 2021 Introductory Praise Song.

The event took place on 25 November 2021 at The Houghton Hotel, Johannesburg. The song I sing at the start and at the end of my presentation was adapted from a song originally written by a great nqambhi (composer) of traditional Xitsonga songs, by the name of Xitende (Ndhindhazi) Mabunda. He was born into the Mabunda royal family at Xihoko village. He wrote this song in the early 1940s. Mabunda has since passed away. I discovered and learnt to sing this song under the guidance of Mr Case Nghetlenge Ngobeni of Jopi Village, N’wamitwa, near Tzaneen. However, I take responsibility for the note and word alterations that turned the original song into a Mukhari clan praise song. Prof Tinyiko Maluleke
