Cumalikizik Visit in Bursa

Cumalıkızık is a village in the Yıldırım district of Bursa Province, located 10 kilometers east of the city of Bursa, at the foot of Mount Uludağ. Its history goes back to the Ottoman Empire's foundation period. The village is now included within the border of the Yıldırım district as a neighborhood. This place is the only village in Turkey that is under UNESCO World Heritage Site inscription: 2014. A quaint little village a little off Bursa city. It worth a trip to get a peek at how ottoman villages looked and feel like. Found the place a little touristy for my liking and the people manning the trinkets shop were a little too pushy but maybe cos it was offseason. Cumalikizik is one of the nostalgic, historic, and authentic villages that entered our radar about a decade ago when a tv series was filmed there. Once domestic tourists started to pour in local women offered their homemade jams, sauces and handmade crafts on a small marketplace. However now streets are filled with yelling vendors or homeowners offering hospitality in their own homes.
