Where to Live in Metro Manila? Guadalupe Nuevo, a Filipino Neighborhood outside BGC, Philippines

I live in Guadalupe Nuevo, a Filipino neighborhood just outside BGC. Have lived in a hotel there for over 3 months. So I regularly visit the same carenderias, sari-sari stores and laundry shop. Today my Spanish buddy and I visited the shopping centre in Guadalupe, met a filipino getting Vintosa treatment for a frozen shoulder and went to the amusement arcade. As usual at this time of year during rainy season, torrential downfalls are never far away. I arrived in Metro Manila with the intention of renting a condo, but I couldn't decide between the BGC or Greenbelt areas. Property Agencies in Manila prefer longer term rentals, unlike in Cebu where I was able to book short-term for 3 or 6 months. Foreigners can live in the Philippines for 3 years without leaving on a Tourist Visa. You just need to renew every 2 or 6 months for a maximum of 3 years before needing to leave the country. What is the big attraction to living in the Philippines? What does the Philippine have that other countries don't have? Why live or retire to the Philippines? Why choose a big Asian city such as Manila rather than live in the province? How do people/retirees spend their time? Retiring in Asia, how would you spend your remaining time on earth? Low cost of living, diversity, culture, weather, food, scenery, long visas entice foreigners to live in the Philippines. Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends, but so last century. When you're there you feel like you're stuck in an 80s/90s time warp with the old skool music blaring out and the outdated infrastructure. Manila is a vibrant Asian city and favorite travel destination in Asia. Cebu has the best of both worlds - combining the city life of shopping malls and nightlife with beaches and paradise islands. The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery. The Philippines is a traveller’s paradise and regularly included in top ten favorite places to visit in Asia and affordable, favorite world holiday destination. Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of around $800 pcm.
