I live in Guadalupe Nuevo, a Filipino neighborhood just outside BGC. Have lived in a hotel there for over 3 months. So I regularly visit the same carenderias, sari-sari stores and laundry shop. Today my Spanish buddy and I visited the shopping centre in Guadalupe, met a filipino getting Vintosa treatment for a frozen shoulder and went to the amusement arcade. As usual at this time of year during rainy season, torrential downfalls are never far away. I arrived in Metro Manila with the intention of renting a condo, but I couldn't decide between the BGC or Greenbelt areas. Property Agencies in Manila prefer longer term rentals, unlike in Cebu where I was able to book short-term for 3 or 6 months. Foreigners can live in the Philippines for 3 years without leaving on a Tourist Visa. You just need to renew every 2 or 6 months for a maximum of 3 years before needing to leave the country.
