Steered by soulful 18-year old vocal powerhouse and songwriter Hannah Gill combined with skilled guitarist, songwriter and arranger Brad Hammonds, the group offers up lush vocals and sparkling fretwork touched by improvisational jazz that gives the duo’s hypnotic recordings and dynamic live performances otherworldly gravity. Hannah Gill & The Hours’ first EP, The Water is a collection of songs about embracing life’s adventures, breaking free from society’s mold and finding personal freedom. Brought together by their shared love of many musical genres and styles, Hammonds and Gill initially connected through a family friend, who felt their sensibilities and improvisational approach to songwriting and performing would click. The two enjoyed a profound creative chemistry and decided to officially come together as Hannah Gill & The Hours in 2015. Once Gill relocated to New York City, they brought a substantial collection of their songs to producers John White and Rich DeCiccio at Whitewater studios in Brooklyn. Mixed by multiple Grammy winner Tim Latham, this collection turned into their debut, The Water. The group’s cover of “Take Me to the Church” was deemed “brilliant” by VH1, and their original, “I Feel Awake” won the mtvU Freshmen contest. In addition to Hannah Gill & The Hours, Gill and Hammonds also perform together with their 1920s prohibition swing/jazz band After Hours alongside keyboardist, trumpet player and vocalist Danny Jonokuchi. Hannah Gill & The Hours is currently working with acclaimed director Alex Decampi (Amanda Palmer) on the video for the debut EP’s first single, “Change in Blue.” The Water will release in April 2016, with a cross-country tour to follow in the summer. http://www.hannahgillandthehours.com/ CREDITS / SPONSORS LOCATION - SONY HQ AUDIO EQUIPMENT - RECORDED & MIXED BY [THE END] BY ERIC LEMKE PRODUCTION - SHIRAN MOSTOVOY SHOT & EDITED BY ERIC DURKIN Tune in again to BalconyTV //
