The Special Express 38, also known locally as the Thaksin Express, is a special express train service operated by the State Railway of Thailand, connecting Sungai Kolok, a southern border town with Malaysia, and Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. Spanning about 1,152 kilometres, the Special Express 38 "Thaksin Express" is Thailand's longest train route. The Special Express 38 "Thaksin Express" train travels independently from Sungai Kolok to Hat Yai Junction, where the Special Express 46 "International Express" from Padang Besar joins up for the combined journey from Hat Yai Junction to Bangkok Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.
