Spicket River- An Adventure Of The Dammed

We visited an urban river for a change. The Spicket wends its way along a heavily traveled highway along the MA/NH border. The Commodore had scouted out this section of river and he made our plan. We first traveled upstream a bit until our path was blocked by endless fallen trees, then we took a brief visit to the artificial stream along the highway. Afterwards we paddled downstream to our destination at a mighty beaver dam, then back to our clay-banked put-in. The weather was topnotch and the river was small and charming, the roar and bumble from the roadway was irksome but tolerable. Altogether a fine trip to experience a different waterscape and environment. Friday August 30th. Noon=~4PM+
