Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has hiked the securities transaction tax (STT) on sale of options as well as futures by 25% each. In the Finance Bill 2023, which was passed by the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman also hiked STT by 25% on sale of futures contracts.
