I booked an EASYJET package holiday to Cannes. Are they any good?

I booked an easyJet package holiday to Cannes on the French Riviera for 3 nights. After looking for a late deal to book a few days before departing I noticed that the closer your departure date is the price was showing more expensive. When I was originally looking around 4 weeks before that seemed to be the sweet spot where holidays were at their lowest price however I was willing to take the risk to wait and see if the price would drop any more. We spent 3 nights in Cannes and the total cost was £619 which included flights and hotel. There was no option to select a transfer from Nice airport to our hotel in Cannes which was quite strange. When I got to Bristol airport our suitcase was overweight by almost 3 kilos which I found very odd especially after weighing it after packing and showing we were bang on 15kg. I was charged an extra £25 for this. Our flight was on time and was a pleasant journey to the South of France. When we arrived the bus stops were directly outside where we easily got on a bus that took us just a 2 minute walk from our hotel. Cannes is a fantastic place for a break with lots to do from swanky bars and restaurants to designer shops and beautiful beaches and landmarks. Cannes can be very expensive however it doesn’t need to be with plenty of budget food and drink options throughout. We stayed in the Citadines apartments in a studio suite which was fantastic just 0.2 miles away from the centre. The room had a fully functioning kitchen, a huge bedroom and bathroom with lots of storage and a generous sized balcony. Just 1 floor above there was a roof terrace with sun loungers which was a sun trap to soak up the sun. There was a supermarket 30 seconds away which had all fresh produce fruit and veg if you wanted to make a meal in the kitchen. We had a fantastic stay and it was definately worth the visit with temperatures around 25 degrees for the duration of our stay. When returning back home Nice airport was an absolute disaster. After going through security and departures we then had to queue again to proceed to gate 29 where there was 1 person working to check our passports with a queue of around 200 people which took forever and salted our flight and the 2 flights departing before us. There was no sense of urgency from the person working at passport control and it was a terrible experience and by far the worst airport I have visited due to the complete lack of staff. To top things off when we landed back at Bristol we got on a shuttle but to take us from the aircraft to the terminal to be stuck on the shuttle for 25 minutes which was absolutely boiling. The driver told us he couldn’t get hold of any easyJet staff to open the doors to let us in which was a bit of a shambles. Apart from these issues overall we had a fantastic time away and Cannes is definately a beautiful place to visit with so much to offer.
