1967 - 1972. In 1967, Pickering introduced the XV-15 series consisting of 5 movng iron models. Each model was designed for a specific type of turntable and was assigned a "Dynamic Coupling Factor" (DCF). The higher the DCF, the higher the performance of the stylus assembly. The 100 model is for budget starter systems and the 400 model for high quality turntables. Every so often, a new model was introduced with a higher DCF rating. In 1972, the highest performing elliptical model, the model 1200 was introduced with a recommended tracking force of 0.75 gram and designed for the finest transcription turntables.
