Funeral March (Chopin) - Mega Man Style 8Bit Remix

Firstly, yes, there will be four non-Russian robot masters featured in Compose Man 2. Check out this 8-bit Mega Man style remix of Chopin's famed Funeral March. Secondly, 2020. What can you say? It will no doubt be up there on the all-time worst list for many of us. I started arranging this piece in 2019, but wrapped up this draft in the spring when the pandemic hit. It became a sort of fight song for me as I thought more and more about the chaos and death mounting around the world. When it's your turn to lay on a death bed, to come face to face with the last moments of your existence, will you be able to look back on your life and say 'I gave it everything I had, and then some'? Will you be able to say that you did everything in your power to be the best version of yourself that you could be, or be the empathetic human being the world and this society actually needed? Will you be able to say that you accomplished the goals and lived some of the dreams you set for yourself? I can't imagine what it was like for those who got whacked by COVID this year even though 99% of their to-do lists were incomplete. It's a sadness I can't comprehend. Add on top of that all the social/political feuding and (for me at least) the musical heroes we lost this year, and boy, if that doesn't get you motivated to get back to work and climb that mountain, I'm not sure you're seeing things the right way. The short of it is this: Death is our real enemy. It's coming for each and every one of us. For those of us still here, I think we better look at 2021 as an opportunity to "Make The Most Of It" TM. Whatever that definition is for you, you better get after it. And no, armchair social media activism is not what I have in mind here hahaha. Maybe log off of Twitter, get away from all that hysteria and go read a book? Write a song? Draw a robot master? Say hello to a neighbor, a loved one, family? Have a civil conversation with someone you disagree with? Say 'THANK YOU' and 'YOU'RE WELCOME'? Say 'hey, let's collab on something cool'? Say 'sorry'? Say 'it's OK, we'll do better next time'? Say 'I love you'? Say 'I'll try to be the best person I can be for you, and for myself'? Say 'let's do it together'? Chips 'N Cellos has a few distinct goals to reach in 2021, but in between that laser-focused work, I hope we can be the best internet companions to you as we can. Sorry in advance for potentially disappointing, but know that we will at least try our very best. We're all in it together. Let's fulfill as many dreams as possible side-by-side, before the funeral march plays in our name. Happy New Year. Good riddance to 2020 and to all the bad attitudes plaguing the planet right now.
