Vortex Generator Test Part 2 - CGS HAWK

Conclusion of the (stol speed) vortex generator installation test. In my opinion the plane does feel much more stable at slower speeds. I may have placed them very slightly too far aft for maximum results so in the future I may end up moving them forward a bit and if that makes anything better I will update the results. Power on stall didn't yield a huge difference but the power off was substantially better and controllable as compared without them. Here are the approximate numbers...all results are made comparing the three averages and rounded up or down to nearest whole number of the three different configurations of power on, power off and dead stick results. Cruise pre VG's Cruise with VG's 4,400 rpm 66 mph vs 67 mph aka the same 4,600 rpm 71 mph vs 72 mph aka the same Pre VG's With VG's 0 deg- 41mph vs 35 mph 10 deg- 38 mph vs 33 mph 20 deg- 35 mph vs 32 mph 30 deg- 35 mph vs 31 mph Overall stall average all combinations pre VG's with VG's 38 mph vs 33 mph Update 4/15/17 : I moved all the VG's so they are all inline with one another with the root section being 2.75" in front of the black and white seam line on top of wing and the outboard ending at 3.75" in front of the seam line. (to the back side of the VG, not the front) It didn't seem to change any of the numbers but it does make it look better so if anyone has a Hawk and wanted to try it for themselves this seems to be a good starting point.
