It’s Time to Start Thinking about the Fall/Winter Garden Already | PNW

Hi Friends, even though it is May, it is already time to start thinking about the fall and winter garden. When I first learned to garden, how early I needed to seed for fall and winter was always the hardest to wrap my head around- and I always forgot to start things on time. The first year, it was the end of September and I went to google what I could seed only to realize that my options were so limited. It had never occurred to me that I would seed in June for Harvest in the fall. That is why I made this video- as a heads up to get you thinking about the fall/winter garden because it comes so fast after we finish all of the seeding and transplanting for the summer garden. As the most basic rule of thumb, seeds sown in June will be for the fall. Seeds sown in July will be for the winter/overwinter and greens/roots are sown in September. Of course there are exceptions to this and each year is different, but that is the safest broadest bit of knowledge when you are a beginner gardener or just expanding into all season gardening. I will do videos in June and July with more specific information, but I wanted to provide a quick overview so you can plan you garden. I hope this video was helpful and thank you for watching.
