Flow around a Circular Cylinder

The purposes of this laboratory are to 1) measure the pressure distribution around a circular cylinder at different velocities (and Reynolds Number) 2) calculate the drag coefficient as a function of Reynolds Number. Students will be able to use a tapped cylinder to measure the pressure distribution around cylinder when it is positioned in a steady stream of air. With these data students will be able to calculate the theoretical pressure distribution around the cylinder and compare the results in graphic format against the experimentally obtained values.
