Palisade Plunge HD 1080p

The Palisade Plunge, What an adventure!! Dave, Tim, and I decided to do the Palisade Plunge during our 2023 out west trip. It was so worth it. The Plunge has a little bit of everything from flowy single track, rock rolls, drops, sketchy sandy gravel on off camber sections of trail, some creek crossings, some single track through aspens, pines and meadows and some extreme exposure. It is not a downhill ride you will be doing some climbing and probably walking some sections. We walked about 20 percent of the first mile and a half because none of us could make the switch back turns on Otto’s Wall. The video makes the trail look wide but use my front tire or handlebars for a reference for the trail width. On some of the sections coming down along the cliffs it would look like you could just rip but, the trail is made up of this gritty gravel and sand and if you got just a little bit out of the packed part of the trail you would just wash out and there were some serious circumstances if you dropped off the trail. We only did the twenty-one-mile section and that was plenty. The trail is super fun and I think the last mile was my favorite riding through the canyon. I ran out of batteries on our first run and had to go back and video tape it before I headed back east. Ellen and I rode Rustlers in the morning then went over to Palisade to ride and video tape the bottom section. I could stay in that canyon all day and session the drops in the canyon. I highly recommend taking the Palisade Cycle and Shuttle Shuttle unless you have someone dropping you off. It is a long drive, and it was nice to just ride into Palisade when we were finished and not have to worry about driving back up to get a vehicle. If you ever get a chance it is well worth the adventure to ride the Plunge.
