08/31/2024 NATRA Group Run, Bill Williams Mountain Trail Williams Arizona

Neil's note: Saturday mornings don't get much better than this, as 14 runners, hikers, and wobblers (not including Superman AND Smokey Bear) did various distances on Bill Williams Mountain, generally covering 6 to 8 miles. The weather was picture perfect with a thick cloud cover and a few sprinkles of rain to keep us cool and we were thrilled to have Indira and Orlando surprise us from Phoenix! Once everyone made it off the mountain, we headed over to George's where his wife Terri had prepped an incredible brunch fit for our army of runners. Terri doesn't mess around. This time she cooked up avocado toast topped with sliced eggs and siracha aioli, pancake sandwiches, spinach pastry puffs, blackberry mimosas, and chocolate mousse. We also had Yan's Laba (a traditional chinese porridge), Lianne's lemon bars, and much more. Yup, just another NATRA run where we had a net caloric gain, despite all the energy we spent making the 2400 ft ascent. We also enjoyed watching as woodpeckers, grosbeaks, and Stellar Jays battled over the Nelsen's backyard bird feeders and birdbath.
