Removing a Rusted Rear Wheel

I'm working on the MTD Gold Yard Tractor and this rear wheel is eating my lunch!!! On one side the wheel came off pretty easy. This side is a different story. It was rusted on the axle pretty darn good. I was trying to knock it loose with an axe. That didn't work. Then I tried hitting it from the back side with a drift punch. No glory there either. I put lots of 'home made' penetrating oil on it and let it set for 2 or 3 hours and then tried this 'Grampie's Workshop' approved wheel puller!!! I had to drill 2 holes in the wheel rim and then make some 'adjustments' to a 6" gear puller to adapt it to be a 'wheel puller' I didn't think it was going to work, but persistence is often as good as any other tool in the shed, and I eventually got the wheel off.
