상팔기타, 김연수 그림 작가님 부부와 아들 율이가 우리집에 놀러왔다. 여름의 끝이 가기 전에 수영도 하고, 바베큐도 하고 함께 음악도 연주하자는 '어느날'의 약속을 순식간에 앞당겨 '오늘'로 정해 버렸다. 같은 제주도에 사는데도 우리는 동쪽, 그쪽은 서쪽이라 같이 만날 기회를 잡기가 힘들다. 한 시간 반을 운전해 가야 하는 거리가 육지 사람들에게는 얼마되지 않는 것 처럼 느껴지겠지만 제주도 사는 사람들이 느끼는 거리는 엄청 멀다. 이상하게도. 그 거리를 훌쩍 뛰어넘어 직접 우리 집을 찾아온 가족에게 감사. 상팔 기타님은 세션 작업을 많이 하셨고, 제주에서는 기타 샵을 운영하면서 레슨도 한다. 유튜브 상팔기타 ‪@MrSangpal‬ 의 주인장으로 노래 반주를 기가 막히게 한다. 함께 즉흥곡을 연주해 보자는 제안을 조심스럽게 했는데 흔쾌히 받아주셔서 오후 나절에 떠오르는 코드로 연습을 해 보고, 다음날 아침 모닝 피아노 세션으로 함께 해 보았다. 이번에는 기본 코드 반주를 미리 루프로 녹음해 놓고 나는 멜로디에만 집중했다. 혼자 피아노를 칠 때보다 이것 저것 신경써야 할 게 많았지만 기타 반주가 들어가니 즉흥 연주가 훨씬 풍성해졌다. 상팔 기타님의 은은한 반주, 그리고 중간 중간에 튀어나오는 독주도 멋있다. 한 곡만 하기에는 아까워서 또, 즉흥적으로 나의 곡 Endless Summer를 자유롭게 연주해 보기로 했다. 메트로놈 없이 자유롭게 하려니 약간 어색하기도 했지만 그것 나름대로 합을 맞춰가는 기분도 좋았다. 프로는 역시 프로. 상팔가타님은 나의 어설픈 연주에도 착착 맞춰서 아름답게 기타를 연주해 주셨다. 우리가 연주를 할때 연수작가는 그림을 그렸다. 피아노와 기타, 그리고 식물이 있는 아름다운 풍경이었다. 율이는 어른들이 이야기를 나눌 때엔 조용히 게임을 했는데, 닌텐도 스위치 게임을 나도 한 번 해보고 싶을 정도로 엄청나게 집중을 했다. 뭐, 나도 저 시절엔 컴퓨터 학원에 가서 하루종일(주말에만) 페르시아 왕자 게임을 했다. 친구들과 먹고 마시고 이야기하는 만남도 좋지만 이렇게, 함께 음악을 연주하고 그림도 그리고, 각자 하고 싶은 것을 따로, 또 같이 하는 만남은 귀하다. 자신이 하고 싶은 일을 묵묵히 하고 있는 사람들고 귀하고. 여름이 가기 전, 약속을 지켜준 상팔기타님 가족에게 감사드린다. 다음에도 또, 기회를 만나서 함께, 재미있는 시간을 보내기로 했다. 여름이 진짜 이렇게 끝나가나 보다. 아직 후덥지근 한게 좀, 이상하지만. *다들 추석 잘 보내세요! /Piano Yamaha CK88 /VST Native Instruments Noire /Sequencing Ableton Live /Loop Controller Akai APC mini /카메라 Canon m50 / 기타는 SP404 로 녹음되어 컴퓨터에서 이펙트 처리를 한 후, 믹싱하였습니다. 첫 곡에 약간의 디스토션이 있는 점 죄송합니다^^;; 케플러모모 싱글 The Night Fall    • The Night Falls [MV] 밤이 진다   캐플러모모 싱글 Will He Come Again?    • Will He Come Again? [MV] 그는 다시 올까요?   케플러모모 싱글 Endless Summer    • Endless Summer [MV] 끝없는 여름   장편소설 "마리안느의 마지막 멤버" https://www.yes24.com/Product/Goods/1... 공식 홈페이지 https://keplermomo.com 인스타그램   / keplermomo   밴드캠프 https://keplermomo.bandcamp.com/ It's hard for us to get a chance to meet each other because it's the east and that's the west. It may feel like an hour and a half drive is not that much to the land people, but the distance that people living in Jeju Island feel is very far. Strangely. I'm grateful to my family who went far beyond that distance and visited my house in person. Sangpal Guitar has worked a lot on sessions, and in Jeju, he runs a guitar shop and gives lessons. The owner of YouTube Sangpal Gita @MrSangpal makes the singing accompaniment amazing. He carefully suggested that we play improv together, but he was willing to accept it, so I practiced with the chord that comes to mind in the afternoon, and then tried it as a morning piano session the next morning. This time, the basic chord accompaniment was recorded in a loop in advance and I focused only on the melody. There were more things to pay attention to than when playing the piano alone, but the improvisation became much more abundant with the guitar accompaniment. The subtle accompaniment of Sangpal Guitar and the solo that pops out in the middle are also cool. It was a waste to do only one song, so I decided to freely play my song Endless Summer on the spot. It was a little awkward to do it freely without a metronome, but it felt good to match it in its own way. As expected, professional. Sangpal Gata played the guitar beautifully to my poor performance. When we were playing, the artist drew pictures. It was a beautiful scenery with piano, guitar, and plants. Yuli played games quietly when adults were talking, but she was so focused that I wanted to play Nintendo Switch. Well, back then, I went to a computer academy and played the Persian Prince game all day (only on weekends). Meeting with friends, eating, drinking, and talking is good, but meeting with friends separately playing music, drawing, and doing what you want to do is precious. People who are doing what they want to do quietly and precious. Before the summer is over, thank you to your family, Sangpalgita, for keeping your promise.
