MINING TOWN- Kayla Von der Heide

Mining Town is the first track off of the new EP coming soon dedicated to living in Cochise County. I wrote this song about how it felt moving alone to Bisbee, figuring out who was true and who wasn't. Super small town living made me even more resilient. This song also represents the liberation about it all and how you can stand firm in your solitude and still shine, even without anyones approval. This video was put together including clips of an old western film called Broken Arrow, which tells the story of Chief Cochise and some other old clips I found of Bisbee and Arizona filmed on the super 8. There are scenes of the lavender pit here and some shots in the White Sands of NM and it was fun to edit it all and splice it into one. Huge thanks to Max Harms in Camp Verde at The Garage for recording and mastering this track, playing the drums on it, and bass too. Max is a very special talent these days in Southern, AZ and it was quite the honor. Also thanks to Jacob Dunham for being the best new friend I could ask for here in CC and for playing such bad ass guitar on these new tracks.
