Delve a little deeper into the mysterious world of some of the more unusual lower plants that inhabit Dartmoor's temperate rainforests. Learn more about lichens and mosses and how they contribute enormously to the biodiversity of these atmospheric Dartmoor woods. Join Kate Hind, Plantlife's Community Scientist on a journey of discovery to find out what to look out for on your next visit to the woods and find out what you can do to support Dartmoor National Park and Plantlife with their conservation. Kate Hind is a Community Scientist at Plantlife and is part of the Plantlife Building Resilience in South West Woodlands team. This project is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and works closely with partners across the region. The project aims to conserve temperate rainforest with practical management and novel techniques, and to share knowledge and run training with local communities.
