Digging a ditch with a mini-excavator to divert water from washing out our rock drive.

We put a rock driveway / rock road in a couple weeks ago and then we got a bad storm with a ton of rain that just messed it all up. We're up on a hill and you can see where the water flows, but we didnt expect this. So, we rented an excavator to dig around a 500 ft ditch on the south side of our road to catch that run off and send it down to our culvert. Neither of us have ever operated an excavator and it showed! But, we got the hang of it and it was a ton of fun. It rained on us the entire time which was annoying, BUT, we got to see how our ditch would work. We think we have the road good enough to get our shipping container delivered, we just need to clear the space where it's going to go, pick the exact one out, decide what "foundation" we're going with and then have it delivered.
