The Magic of Static Grass - Model Making Masterclass

In this video I show you how to easily add a bit of life to your miniature's base using static grass! Its super simple and is a skill you will want to have in your toolbox if you're a miniature enthusiast. Here's what you'll need: Static grass from any supplier (Mine is Gale Force 9 I believe) PVA glue Tweezers An old Paintbrush A plastic bottle cap Water So the first thing that you want to do is finish painting the base of the miniature. Static grass will be the last thing you want to put on. Finding the right spots on the base is probably the most artistic part of this process. As long as it isn't super symmetrical, it will look great! Mix up the placement, try to be as random as possible, and vary the size of your grass patches for the best effects. The process is pretty simple: mix some glue and water in the plastic bottle cap, mix it together, and then dab or paint it on the base where you want to place the static grass. Then grab large clumps of the grass and pile it up on top of the glue areas. Leave it for maybe 30 seconds to a minute, and then turn the model on its side and lightly tap the base to knock any excess grass off. After this, blow on the areas of grass to help them stand up straight like real grass, and you're done! Many people like to paint a brown or dark shade into the middle of the grass to help tie it into the base, but this is not a must-do step. There you have it! Its a simple process that can really take your base to the next level! Let me know what you think in the comments, and share your own work as you try this out for yourself! #miniaturepainting #paintingwarhammer #warhammer40k #warhammer #ageofsigmar #basing #staticgrass
