Chevrolet is no stranger to electric vehicles, but the new-for-2024 Equinox EV is the brand’s most mainstream EV yet. For starters, it’s a space-efficient compact SUV — one of the most popular vehicle categories in the U.S. — and it comes with a generous list of standard features, including a full suite of safety equipment. It also uses GM’s latest Ultium battery technology, which helps it achieve a driving range and charging speeds that are close to the best EVs in its class. Finally, the Equinox EV is very competitively priced, delivering impressive EV value for the money. Cars.com Senior Research Editor Damon Bell traveled to Detroit to attend the Equinox EV’s press preview event, and he got seat time in a front-wheel-drive 2LT trim (more powerful all-wheel-drive versions are available, too). The model lineup also includes a 3LT trim with a higher level of standard equipment, along with sportier-looking 2RS and 3RS trims. An entry-level 1LT is slated to arrive later in the model year. All Equinox EVs come with an 11-inch digital instrument panel and an extra-large 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, as well as optional features like a panoramic sunroof, hands-free power liftgate and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system. Come along for our full tour of the Equinox EV, including Damon’s behind-the-wheel driving impressions. Read our full report on the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV: https://www.cars.com/articles/2024-ch...
