We were lucky enough to volunteer for this years (2023) 4x4 Takeover at Disney, OK. This is a locally organized charity event that partners with Toys for Tots. The off-road hillclimb event has 4 classes: stock, Side-by-side, modified, and bouncer. Disney is also known as "Disney Island" because it sits on an island at the southern shore of Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. Oklahoma State Highway 28 is the only road into and out of Disney. To get into Disney from the west, one must drive across the 1-mile long Pensacola Dam. Hogan's Off Road Park in Disney, Oklahoma is a year-round campground and recreation area for off-roading. It's located next to the Pensacola Dam spillway on Grand Lake. The park has about five square miles of trails and rock structures. This was our first time out to the Disney off-road park, and we were pleased to find that though the trails were narrow for Little Red, she was still able to handle enough of the area to be of assistance if needed. We were even able to crawl to the top of the SxS and modified trails. This Ford f450 is turning out to not only be a head turner, but also a completely capable off-road recovery rig.
