3 Tips for Mastering Poi Antibrids (Intermediate Hybrid Tutorial)

DC warmed up over the weekend! This gave me an opportunity to put together a brief lesson on poi antibrids in anticipation of my upcoming midwest workshop tour. A specialized subset of poi hybrids, there are a few ways you'll need to adjust your approach to doing poi tricks in order to make these come together--I'll cover 3 of them in this poi dancing tutorial. Antibrids are a fun and bizarre corner of the poi spinning world that involve a point of contact between the hand and opposite poi head. They're strange in that they require something that in most circumstances I absolutely hate: making one hand completely immobile. Normally I fight to get people to move their hands around more, but these poi spinning tricks buck that tendency and instead require us to do just the opposite...while tracking the result with our opposite hand. This will help you to learn poi spinning when your hands have to do very, very different things!
