Ten Intro Game Design Tips I Learned From Dungeons & Dragons | Card Game Design | RPG Design

Considering I've been teaching game design on this channel for nearly three years, it may surprise you that most of my knowledge on the subject was learned from Dungeons & Dragons! In this video, I'll be discussing ten of those game design tips, which you can use in ANY game you want to make. Starting to design your own game is exciting, but can also be incredibly daunting, especially if you don't have experience or know where to start. These ten game design tips should give you a good starting point, whether you're designing a card game, a roleplaying game, or assets for pre-existing systems and properties as I've often done when running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. It may not work perfectly your first try, and that's ok. Game design is a creative pursuit, and it won't be flawless to start. But if you learn anything from this, know that if you keep trying, you'll improve and make something you're proud of. Also. Feels weird to be on camera, but I felt like it was time. That, and I had a very particular vision for this intro and a face-reveal was the only way to do it. Let me know what you thought of this new mixed approach! Thanks for watching! I'd love to hear your thoughts, so let's keep this discussion rolling down in the comments.
