Since 1997, Japan volleyball went into dark era given no good players and coach, 2000 even failed to enter Sydney Olympic, the unprecedented incident in Japan volleyball history. Kim Yeon-koung didn't play in this tournament. There were no key players and their team work really bad. Their height was quite tall but things didn't add up. Score one point and lost two points happened always in Korea team. Before this match, Japan obtained a 4W0L record. If they won against Korea, they will confirm qualified to the Olympic. Pressure was there even Korea team was not strong. But again, Korean players sent their victory to Nippon.
