On 3 September 2024, BBC's The One Show featured a segment about a partnership between Manchester City Council, CityCo, and Steroplast Healthcare, which saw 177 Public Access Trauma (PAcT) Kits distributed across venues in Manchester’s hospitality and entertainment sectors. This initiative addresses the "care gap" – the crucial period between a serious incident, such as a terrorist attack, and the arrival of emergency services. Figen Murray, a campaigner for Martyn’s Law, was interviewed to discuss the importance of being prepared for such incidents, emphasising how essential tools like the PAcT Kit are in public spaces. Her involvement highlighted the urgency of equipping venues with life-saving resources. At the event, a Steroplast healthcare professional led a training session for venue staff, showing them how to use the PAcT Kit’s contents, including easy-to-use tourniquets and trauma dressings. The session demonstrated how even those without medical experience can effectively manage life-threatening injuries using the kit.
