A Nice peaceful Friday evening in Newport News. Watched Amtrak P066 (Amtrak 66) leave, but just prior to the train approaching the crossing a car almost took out the gate in attempts to beat the train. We also saw Amtrak P095 (Amtrak 95) lead into Newport News with the P42DC #174 and then watching them turn the train around before preforming a non-revenue service run to Richmond Staples Mill Rd Station. On fridays Newport News has a extra arrival but like every day it only has 2 departures. This means they need to send a train to Richmond every Friday night, Amtrak P095 on Fridays turns then deadheads to Richmond Staples Mill Rd Station. If all goes to plan they should be in Richmond Amtrak before 11pm.
