SEE MORE INFO & FELTING TIPS below: WORKSHOPS ONLINE & IN PERSON / CONTACT: Website: https://www.theladymoth.com/ Facebook page:   / feltingclasses   TIPS this is a quick time-lapse video of making bird's nest, not recommended for beginners - no audio was recorded, if required you may decrease playback speed in video settings eggs - see my Blossom Eggs tutorial for detailed instructions on making an egg shape - with the same technique you can create various sizes, using different amounts of wool (note that white wool slivers can vary in thickness) tools: I am using 38 gauge needle, double 38 and a multitool, working on a wool mat from Feltabulous - 40 gauge needle can be used evenly at the end, to smooth egg surface after adding colour yarn ball used for making a nest - best to use soft acrylic or wool yarn nest - can be made thicker, smaller, bigger - starting at minute 2:00 I am folding and felting over the edge to make it stiffer - remember to gently separate the nest from the ball from time to time and continue stabbing until you reach required density blending - starting at minute 2:25 I am blending colours - see Blossom Egg tutorial mentioned above for more detailed blending instructions locks: loosen the locks in some places if you want them to attach better or apply a thin layer of brown wool in places you want to secure - tight locks add more texture but they can be more difficult to felt Enjoy making your own, unique nests - add more colour, feathers and twigs if you wish.
