Sowerby Bridge Folk on Film. I filmed these people in the 1970s. Many of them have long since died. Probably the only moving images left of them are these films that I took. Even some of the locations that I filmed them in have changed greatly. The film opens with Edgar Habergam working on his allotment. Then there is a Street Party. Next we see my mum talking to Jessie Lawrence over the garden fence. We see workers walking on Walton Street next, then some people waiting to catch a bus for Sowerby. Next little Annie is walking on Nelson Street. Then workers are walking along West Street. The bus stop queue, Annie and West Street are repeated. Then we see Annie again, Babs Greenwood hoeing her garden, Mary Caine visiting a neighbour at Belmont Street and Edgar Habergam again. Next there is me balancing on one leg at Willow Hall Dam, me when I was 21 and me doing a funny walk. Then my Dad is putting something in the dustbin. I do another funny walk, then there is my friend Paul Wilson doing a few actions, including rowing a boat. Mary Cain is seen again then there is my Grandma Clara waving to the camera.
