The San Diego Zoo aviaries are a great place to spend time at the zoo. In this video we go to the Scripps Aviary, the Parker Aviary, the Hummingbird Habitat, the Africa Rocks Woodland Aviary, and the Owens Aviary. See all new footage from my iphone15 camera, using the Hohem iSteady X Gimbal. Great new footage, including some amazing footage of the Tucan in the Parker Aviary. This video includes brand new footage in the Scripps Aviary, Hummingbird Aviary, and Africa Rocks Aviary. Unfortunately the Owens Aviary has been closed for the last couple months, and will be closed indefinitely according to zoo workers, so I have included previously used footage from the Owens Aviary. Hear relaxing and serene music as well as natural birds sounds and streaming water sounds. The journey will begin in the Parker Aviary which features birds from South America. We then go to the Scripps Aviary which has tropical birds from Africa, then the Africa Rocks Aviary which has more woodland African birds. Some of the birds cross over between the Scripps and Africa Rocks Aviaries, but on average the birds in Africa Rocks are smaller and the environment is less tropical and more woodland. After Africa Rocks, we go to the hummingbird aviary which has many small birds from the Americas, including by not exclusively hummingbirds. The Hummingbird Habitat was new to the zoo in 2021. The Hummingbird Habitat is just before the Wildlife Explorers Basecamp and next to the Komodo Dragon area. It features cascading water, orchids, anthuriums, palms and other rare plants reflecting the diversity and beauty of the birds’ native regions—as well as an open-water pool that guests can view from an observation bridge along the pathway.
