Gerard Baldwin Animation

Gerard Baldwin was an American animator whose most notable animation work is prominent in various Jay Ward productions. He also worked for Playhouse Pictures, UPA, Hanna-Barbera and John Sutherland Productions in a variety of different roles. He has been awarded for his services in animation, having produced "The Smurfs" for Hanna-Barbera, directing "Halloween Is Grinch Night" for DePatie–Freleng and was vice-president & producer for Tokyo Movie Shinsha's early efforts with it's Hollywood studio. After doing early work for short scenes and TV spots, Gerard's animation quickly matured and became instantly recognizable when working under the restrictions of television. The use of separating animation layers allowed for fuller mouth movements in the age of limited animation, and bundled with a unique sense of abstraction and timing, gave Gerard a creative edge over the rest of his peers. Music used: "Cue 8-10" by Hoyt Curtin, "Now Hear This" by Eric Siday, "Working Man Blues" by Tom Baker and "Sporting Highlights" by Keith Mansfield All clips are presumed and use the best available information.
