Monster Hunter Frontier Z: Odibatorasu - Hammer

This may come out as slightly petty to anyone who's already familiar with the latter 2 flightless wyverns, but have I been the only person who didn't really find Akantor nor Ukanlos all that memorable? Considering the following subjective statements I have for them somewhat equally to an extent, their folklore classification depicted as "gods" from messengers of woe and chaos across the world is hardly at all descriptive that doesn't even do much benefit to best suit their image. The volcanic eruption behemoth sent from Hell by the name of Akantor, and the bitter cold colossal titan blizzard Ukanlos, while ferocious and menacing, are incredibly bare bones in terms of the standard facets of power. The pinning move and defense reduction capabilities is great enough as is and doesn't need that much further explanation to make Akantor recognizable. Same thing goes for it's gigantic near insta kill wind tunnel blast along with Ukanlos' dangerously hazardous breath attack that causes avalanches; in addition to it's (bullshit) autotargeting bulldoze approach tactic that makes both monsters infamous. But the problem I have for Akantor and Ukanlos respectively is their sheer lack of qualifying them as so called "gods." Akantor is known as the "Black God," while Ukanlos is the "White God." ...For what exactly? Control of elements? Manipulation? Complete dominion over the environment? I don't see them doing that at all aside from shifting the ground frequently and causing distortions around the area that's got nothing to do with being in ultimate control. Especially if elements are brought into the discussion tables. Take Akantor for example. In mainline, the "Black" part is literally found NOWHERE on it's design at all. In Frontier however when hardcore is toggled on in G Rank, Akantor becomes HEAVILY emphasized and more descriptive to it's title thanks to the wind tunnel attacks transforming into black tornadoes surrounding the air. Not to mention, it actually HAS control over the environment for once. Just like a true god should But then there's Odibatorasu. The Sand God. ....Kind of obscure for a title since it breaks the whole color side of things, but setting that aside, THIS. IS. EXCELLENT. Unlike it's brethren, this crimson red titanic MACHINE tortoise creature, (Yet ANOTHER genius concept by the developers) emerges out of the dunes to perform EVERYTHING of what it can do with the sand element. Absorbing large lethal quantities of sand to be launched out from it's back like a CANNON Summoning an array of sand projectiles from the ground that flies in completely random directions Creating waves of sand to push you back Sand pillars to ensnare you Gigantic sweeping sand beams Causing earthquakes (He refused to cooperate A LOT at the end) And sandstorms to hinder your vision When it comes to holding complete dominion over the desert, Odibatorasu is fucking outstanding with the untold amount of atmosphere it provides. That alone makes the scene feel ten times more extravagant because of how authentic the monster really is in concept. And the music is DEFINITELY a major grand contributor to it's entire design. I've already said it before back in my remade favorite MH soundtrack list from last year, but I still stand by the desert being my favorite element in video games. And this music just defines virtually every single waking aspect of it by redefining the core essence of what makes the desert so ancient and atmospheric as a whole given factor. Not to mention the ABSURD level of depth it owns to perfectly represent an all powerful being of the earth controlling the environment and creating such an exquisitely gorgeous aura in pure ethereal luxury that NEVER GETS OLD. I still have absolutely no idea what that horn like instrument is called and I've been dying to find out since I first listened to this unbelievably beautiful and catchy melody. If anyone knows what it is, please tell me Consider this last portion of the description a thank you letter to Odibatorasu because I am GRATEFUL beyond words that this monster has encouraged me to expand my horizons further within Frontier ever since the day I discovered it's existence. Dhisufiroa did no justice. Just leave it all up to Odibatorasu's obscene abundance of glorious variety causing my curiosity to multiply rapidly just so that I could examine more of Frontier's monsters. So, sincerely, thank you once again Odibatorasu for inspiring me to play Frontier and to experience the rest of your kind. You may have been relatively easy to bring down since you tend to suffer from "safe while underneath" syndrome, but I still enjoyed everything else within your most greatest abilities much more than your relatives couldn't quite reach altogether. (A Hardcore Ukanlos would've definitely fixed that) Also your revving car engine roar is just.... great, lol
