My name is Jay, and I am a long-time veteran of storytelling and a semi-seasoned DM! I began playing Dungeons and Dragons roughly 5 years ago and began my first ever game as the DM. I figured things out by watching online games and fumbling my way through the rules, and never looked back! I've fallen in love with TTRPG's in general and want to share my experience and thoughts with the world and community I love so much. I currently DM two separate games regularly, and continue to learn every day. 🔴 ** ABOUT THE CHANNEL ** Play Your Role is a project with the intention of helping inspire and coach players and DM’s alike to add story beats and dramatic moments into their games through basic writing concepts, interesting player character inspirations, and discussions on how to effectively roleplay in a way that helps (not hinders) everyone else's roleplay at the table! 💡 TOPICS IN THIS VIDEO 💡 • Dungeons and Dragons • • Cleric 5e • • Tabletop Roleplay • • DND5e • • DND • • TTRPG • • Roleplay Games 🔎 HASHTAGS 🔎 #DungeonsAndDragons #Cleric5e #TTRPG #DND #DND5e 🔎 SCRIPT EXCERPT: (This isn't important, just stuff for the algorithm) 🔎 They looked around; broken and weak. All around them stood monuments of their failure, like statues frozen in time to commemorate their greatest moments of pathetic weakness. But they weren’t statues. They were real moments, seemingly frozen in time as the teal furred tabaxi looked around in horror. All around them, their party was… “Dead.” A voice spoke, seemingly full of empathy for the defeated Tabaxi, but it wasn’t real empathy. How could the individual responsible for the evisceration of their party actually feel any kind of true sorrow? Slowly, they looked up as the monster smiled and revealed her sharp, pointed fangs that shone almost as bright as her ghastly pale skin in the moonlight. “Such a waste, isn’t it? I tried so hard to warn you all… Tried to prevent this. But you insisted on getting in my way and now… Well.” The vampire leaned down and gave the Tabaxi an infuriatingly patronizing pout, causing her bottom fangs to jut out of her mouth as she did so. “.. Now your poor little friends are dead. If only you had listened, little kitty.” Immediately they hissed and took a swing with their mace, only to howl in pain as they felt their fractured ribs give away and cause the weapon to fall harmlessly to the floor. “Awwww… You’re still trying so hard. It would be admirable if it wasn’t so… Sad. Tell me, where are they?” Still gritting their teeth from the blinding pain in their side, the Tabaxi managed to look up and spit out words between the blood. “Where is who?” “Well, your god of course! You told me you had a god, didn’t you? You told me you would destroy me with their holy light, bring me to justice for all those who had suffered under my reign… so where are they? I can’t imagine they would let their prized little puppet die without at least a reprimand now would they?” While the Tabaxi wished they could retort, it was more than the insufferable pain within their chest that prevented them from responding. She was right. Where WAS their god? Why had they not intervened? After all they had done for them, after everything they had sacrificed in the name of their cause… Did they not care? “Awww… Poor little thing. You realize now, don’t you? You realize they don’t care. They never did.” No. No this couldn’t be true, they had come this far with faith… Their faith had to be enough. Silently, they gripped the holy symbol around their neck and began to pray fervently. They had to be there, they had to be listening. They could not, would not go down with absolutely no fight. Not if their god was truly watching. They continued to pray, continued to beg the deity they had pledged their life to so they could intervene as the vampress began to lift her hand, drawing her saber. “Pity. I was hoping you had some fight. Nonetheless… Take peace in knowing your death won’t be in vain. Your fur pelt will make an exc
