Tutorial: Using SolidWorks Simulation and Blender's Shape Keys to animate a 3D model

This tutorial shows how to easily animate a flexible mechanical part in 3D. This is done using SolidWorks Simulation (finite element calculations) and Blender. Blender's Shape Keys are at the heart of this process. The file formats used to move from one application to another are the following: *.stl or *.stp (STEP), *.wrl (VRML), *.glb or *.gltf (glTF) ▬▬ Content of the video 0:00 - Introduction 0:15 - 3D models on Sketchfab 0:47 - Downloadable STL model: Locking forceps 1:14 - SolidWorks Simulation: Deformation of compliant forceps 3:41 - Blender: Animation with Shape Keys 7:19 - Uploading the 3D model for publication on the web 8:33 - Diagram summarizing the entire process 8:54 - About play.ht's AI voice generator ▬▬ Useful links Check out and download the 3D animated model I created for this demonstration.
